Soren Silkenson was born May 18, 1981 and is a native of the Austin area. He attended Elgin High School where he graduated in three years and in the top ten percent of his class. Immediately following high school he joined the workforce while simultaneously attending evening and online classes at Austin Community College. From 1998 to 2008 Soren worked in a variety of fields while slowly working towards his degree and gaining ten years of work experience. To help develop his well rounded combination of life/work/school he even spent one semester living in Crested Butte, Colorado simply working and snowboarding.

Soren's untraditional approach to his college education allowed him to spend his free time focusing on the subjects that he was most interested in. He taught himself the basics of a variety of programming languages and software such as HTML, XHTML, javascript, and the majority of the Adobe Suite (Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Audition and Premiere). Soren has used these skills to create several personal websites as well as do some freelance web design/creation. For the past four years he worked for Lennar Homes as the Regional Design System Manager overseeing their Texas, Colorado, Illinois, and Minnesota divisions. In the fall of 2008 Soren left Lennar Homes to complete his degree at the University of Texas.

Soren Silkenson is currently a student at the University of Texas in Austin. He is a majoring in Multimedia Communication and plans to graduate in the Spring of 2010. Soren spends the majority of his time focusing on his studies but still has a passion for travel, music, movies, and all things digital. After completing his degree at UT he hopes to begin work in the communication, social media, or entertainment field. Ultimately he would like to work for himself and have the freedom to do so from anywhere he chooses. He is also considering attending graduate school in the field of communications or media with the goal of teaching at the college level.
